Welcome to the 7th Biennial Feminisms and Rhetorics Conference!

UPDATE: Proposals are now available for review. Reviewers have received instructions by email; they can also read the instructions here.

The conference will be hosted by the Rhetoric and Writing Program at Michigan State University, October 7-10, 2009. Beginning December 15, 2009, the 2009 Feminisms and Rhetorics committee will be accepting proposals that explore the connections between the conference theme, "Enabling Complexities: Communities/Writing/Rhetoric," and our scholarly communities and practices.

Presentation and proposal lengths will be:

  • 20 minute individual presentations (250 words or less)
  • 90 minute 3-4 member panels (500 words or less)
  • 90 minute workshops or roundtables (500 words or less)

Download the complete CFP here.

Although traditional presentations are acceptable, we encourage participants to create formats that go beyond the read-aloud academic paper. Alternative formats may include:

  • Poetry reading
  • Performance
  • Art

Interactive sessions that include discussions, dialogues, and performances are especially welcome.
